Fall 2003

HELLO TO MY DEAR FRIENDS:

I am still making plans to do the ACROSS AMERICA OUTREACH this Fall if enough finances come in before the end of this month. Preferably before month-end, (SEPTEMBER). The sooner we can leave, the better.  I just got my Jeep Cherokee 4x4 smogged yesterday, and will get it registered soon, in time for the trip.  Brakes are to be checked, etc. My Outreach helper, John Tharp from Big Bear, will be able to accompany on the trip.  He is a powerful witness for Jesus.  He has been a wrestling Coach in our area and has ministered with me in Hollywood, and often, here in downtown Big Bear.

Frankie, my wife, (Sept. 23rd will be our 42nd  anniversary) will be continuing her part-time job at Pine Summit Baptist Camp in Big Bear, for the time being.  She is one of the Cooks there.  She will be keeping the home-fires burning, until our return.  It may take a month and a half or two months to complete the trip.  Places I could be ministering at, are:  White Fish Montana, Okla. City, Tulsa OK, Branson, MO, Springfield, MO, Festus, MO, with Pastor Frank and Alice Hoffman, St. Louis, MO, Nashville, Knoxville, and Cleveland, TN, Possibly Louisville, KY, Bear Creek, PA, where our dear friends David and Gloria Z, live, and several East Coast areas like Rhode Island, New Jersey, and New York.  My friends, Attorney Michael Smith, and his wife, Liz, have offered their home in Virginia, to stay over, if we want to minister there and Washington D.C.  area.  I used to be their Pastor years ago in Topanga Canyon, CA.  Mike has a Legal Defense Work for Home Schooling needs in America.  On the return trip, possibly Atlanta, GA, then to the Southern Route on Highway 10, from Mobile AL, to New Orleans, then home.
I realize this would be a big undertaking, and we could make this trip only if God lays it on the hearts of people to sponsor it.  If God wants me to go at this time, I believe He will have no problem bringing in the finances.  If for some reason, the finances do not come in time for this trip, I will still be busy doing the Outreach, closer to home, no matter where I find myself, as long as there is life in my body.  Hallelujah!  God healed me of a pain in my side over a month ago that the Doctor said I would have to live with.  A few days later it disappeared.  Glory to God.  I feel better now than I've felt in years.  I'm even walking better.  God is so good.  If we do make the trip, I will try to alert everyone along the way, as to the journey.  My Cell Phone is 909-725-3868.  I use Verizon Wireless.  Weekends and after 9pm, I have free calls, but if you need to get hold of me and I'm not home, call me anytime.  I have voice mail at both phones.
LAS VEGAS:  My old friend and former street-ministering Buddy, Kleg Seth is back in Las Vegas, at Las Vegas Centrum, which he founded years ago, helping the broken and desperate people who get shipwrecked there.  I plan to spend some time there, ministering with him on the streets, after my return from the ACROSS AMERICA trip, or sooner if I can't make that trip.
HOLLYWOOD:  Eric Hoerger, my Pastor at Believer's Chapel, in Big Bear Lake, and Chris Robertson, and I, went to Hollywood a few weeks ago, on a Wednesday evening.  We had a very good time singing and handing out tracts at Hollywood and Las Palmas Blvd.  People from all over the World came by, and we gave out my tracts until we ran out.  My old Bro., Roy Silvernail, who lives there, came down to meet us in his electric wheelchair, and joined in with us.  We only had to deal with two Demoniacs this time.  They seem to come out of the woodwork when we lift up Jesus in public places.
BIG JIM TUCKER:  Big Jim graduated to Heaven a few weeks ago, at the age of 69.  He wrote the book THREE GATES TO HELL, about his many years in Prison.  He had been severely abused as a child but after getting out of Prison, he met Jesus, and became a powerful witness to men and women throughout the world, who had become hardened by the storms of their lives.  His love for the Unlovely, was as big as the great outdoors.  I was honored to be asked to officiate at his memorial Service, at the Inland Vineyard in Riverside CA, last Wednesday.  A great tribute was given by his friends and family. He will be greatly missed, but his inspirational life will live on, through Jesus.
